Equipment Needed : Game sheets (there are two double sided sheets, one side for each operation)
Victorian Curriculum outcome : Solve problems involving addition and subtraction of fractions, including those with unrelated denominators. Multiply and divide fractions and decimals using efficientย  written strategies and digital technologies
Task description : .The game involves rolling dice, either eight sided or ten sided. Students fill in either a numerator or denominator of the sum, where the object is to get as close to 2 as possible. There are four games โ€“ one where three fractions are added, one where three fractions are subtracted, one where two fractions are multiplied and one where two fractions are divided. Students must show an entire sheet of each, with working to show the result of each sum.
Assessment options : Photograph of game sheet.
Teacher notes : Change the number of sides on the dice to change the difficulty of the game. 4, 6, 8 and 10 sided dice make the game simpler or more complex as required. Talk to students about strategy to avoid the task becoming a glorified worksheet.
